The winning artist was Robin Smith of Grimoldby with his acrylic painting Shifting Sands Humber Estuary. The prize is a three page article in the Lincolnshire Pride magazine. Windham Hime from the gallery based in Carre Street said: “We wanted to get a range of good quality artists’ work and decided to run a competition open to Lincolnshire artists both amateur and professional allowing people to put up to three pieces of work into the gallery with a completely impartial judge. “Mr Worth spent quite a long time before eventually selecting the piece he thought was the best. “Mr Hime said it was really encouraging as the event had attracted several artists they had not been aware of. The Lord Lieutenant was impressed by the high standard and diversity of work. Mr Worth is part of a committee whose task is to unearth and resurrect lost and mislaid works of art of Lincolnshire.
