Movie Gallery completed refinancing deal

which has been trying to orchestrate a financial turnaround said today it has completed a transaction that will give the nation’s No. 2 video rental chain $900 million in new financing while reducing its interest costs. Wall Street firm Goldman Sachs Credit Partners LP arranged the deal which includes a $600 milion first-lien term loan. Movie Gallery which has posted losses in five of the past six quarters said the refinancing deal will save it more than $6 million in annual interest costs. The transaction resulted in $127 million in available cash the company said.
